This area located in the parking lot at the corner of Howell and 18th Street is designed for children. Enjoy a tasty funnel cake, a root beer, popcorn, a sandwich, a sausage, ice cream, whatever may be your favorite fair treat along concession row. The festival area carries on the tradition of our founder, Mickey Finn, by being an area for children to enjoy their day!

Parade Route

The parade starts at 11:00 A.M.! The parade route hasn’t changed much over the years. But, you will notice the streetscape of NKC has changed a bit. Be sure to stay behind the green lines for safety purposes. No standing or spectating from the new medians. We want everyone to have a safe and fun Snake Saturday

Parking Tips

North Kansas City Public Works will close all parking along the route beginning early Saturday morning. The parade staging is from 10th to 14th along Swift and along 14th from Howell to Swift. We want to thank all the businesses which are affected by the parade and highly encourage all attendees to patronize these businesses as they provide us the opportunity to conduct the parade and assist all the numerous charities.

Free parking in North Kanas City is very plentiful. The key to grabbing a good spot close to the parade route is just like any other event – get there in plenty of time.

While there is no designated parade parking we recommend:

– Any public lot or street north of Armour Road
– Any public lot or street south of 18th Avenue and East of Erie Street
– Any public lot or street west of Clay Street

Please understand parking within the area bordered by Swift on the west, Armour on the north, Howell on the east, you will be required to remain parked in those areas until the parade is completed, approximately 1 P.M. This is because roads are barricaded to protect the parade participants as they negotiate the parade route and then exit the city. You may receive a ticket by moving barricades and interfering with the parade.

Public parking lots are located off Clay Street, along Swift north of Armour, along Armour west of Swift, and a pay parking lot is located north of 18th across from F325 on Buchanon. Again, if you park east of Swift, South of Armour Road, and west of Howell, you must remain in that area until the parade is complete at approximately 1:00 P.M.
